In addition, more than 500 women and girls received essential feminine care supplies, in collaboration with several partner organizations.
This project, carried out during 2023–2024, worked with three key groups: men, women, and adolescent girls. It aimed to promote awareness, empowerment, and social change through the following components:
The project focused on women's and girls’ well-being through activities in the following areas:
Sexual and Reproductive Health:Joint sessions between mothers and adolescent girls to encourage open discussions on topics like puberty, early marriage, pregnancy health, and breastfeeding.
Digital Empowerment:Training in technology and effective internet use to boost participants’ digital skills, increase their opportunities in the job market, and enhance their role in the digital society.
Protection from Online Violence:Workshops on how to stay safe online and deal with issues like cyberbullying, harassment, and blackmail, while supporting their psychosocial well-being.
Innovative Psychosocial Support (Zumba):12 adolescent girls took part in Zumba-based sessions to promote emotional well-being, self-expression, connection, and peer support.
Working with 15 women from previous participants to empower and qualify them through several programs aimed at developing and empowering women, and using effective tools and methods to complete the project:
A 5-day workshop to prepare the women and develop essential tools for use in their sessions, helping them interact with the target group in a simple and effective way.
To empower the women with presentation and training skills so they can spread information in their communities and reach a wider group of beneficiaries.
Hands-on experience in their own communities through the formation of four discussion circles (12 participants each), and delivering four awareness sessions on: (Child Rights Agreement, Early Marriage, Gender and Gender Roles, Gender-Based Violence)
Through these sessions, after facing several challenges, including the withdrawal of two women for justified reasons, including health issues, we were able to reach 156 women who now have sufficient knowledge of these topics and the ability to transfer this knowledge to their surrounding community to achieve the greatest possible benefit.
